Abstract
My study presents the results of my experience teaching Dante’s Divine Comedy in maximum security prisons in Italy, Indonesia and the United States with a focus on how collaborations between traditional university students and incarcerated students can lead to deeper intercultural understanding by viewing literature as a catalyst for viewing the world through each other’s eyes.
