Abstract
The story has a powerful impact on the human mind of all age groups. There are various ways to tell stories; one of the forms is digital storytelling. Digital storytelling has grown in popularity in recent years as a tool for promoting holistic development in young children. This study investigates parents’ perceptions regarding the impact of digital storytelling on their children’s moral values and its subsequent effects on their behavior and attitudes. An extensive literature review on digital storytelling and child development serves as the foundation for this mixed-method study, which incorporates both qualitative and quantitative methodologies. The study focuses on parents in Karachi with children aged two to six years, with 100 people taking part in a quantitative survey and five parents participating in in-depth interviews to provide qualitative perspectives. Data collection used questionnaires for the survey and interviews to gather parental experiences and opinions. The numeric data was analyzed with SPSS, and the qualitative replies from interviews were presented in narrative form. According to the findings, digital storytelling has a good influence on establishing moral principles in children. Furthermore, parents indicated that exposure to digital storytelling improved their children’s behaviors and attitudes. This research contributes to the growing body of knowledge in the field of education, advocating for the integration of digital storytelling as an effective tool for nurturing young minds - and serving as a helping tool for parents to use for inculcating moral values in their children.
