Learning Environments from Affective Education for the Teaching of Graphic Design at the National University of Colombia

Abstract

Well-being in the classroom is fundamental if students are to be motivated and happy. This lies in not ignoring the emotions of each one and leaving them outside the classroom, but recognizing them and taking advantage of them for learning. Thus, this research has sought to understand the importance of learning environments in the teaching of graphic design, taking into account emotional intelligence, neurodidactics and affective learning as the basis for its design. It has been recognized how emotions and affection influence the learning of graphic design, which has allowed a better disposition and motivation for learning. For this purpose, four learning environments were designed and different data were collected from a socio-affective characterization form, participant observation and focus groups. These tools allowed finding a significant improvement in terms of disposition, assimilation and use of what was learned, not only for their profession but also for their life.
