Abstract
Advancements in instructional technology have brought forth innovative tools, including Immersive Virtual Environments, which have gained prominence for their potential to enhance authentic learning experiences. This report examines the integration of Immersive Virtual Environments as adaptive learning platforms to address Universal Design for Learning (UDL) principles, with a focus on offering multiple means of representation, engagement, and expression for a diverse student population. Immersive Virtual Environments can be tailored to meet the diverse needs and preferences of learners, including those with disabilities, and can offer rich multimedia content, customizable views, interactive learning experiences, role-playing, personalized avatars, collaborative tools, and accessibility features, which are in alignment with UDL principles. An example Immersive Virtual Environment, used for exploring the culture and arts of Indonesia, is presented to provide examples of inclusive, engaging, and adaptive learning experiences for students.
