Climate Migration in Euro-Med Region : Outlining of Climate Migration Policy in Regional Scale Based on Empirical Comparison Relating National Characteristics in Different Fields of Environment and Economic Development

Abstract

The study presents a framework for a discussion on climatic migration against the background of social, economic and inter-cultural aspects as a global phenomenon, its macro-regional expression in geographical defined region of Euro-Med, and examines state-level affinities in the above wide contexts, and includes four parts: 1) framing climate migration on the backdrop of risk societies and the multiplier threats posed by climate change. With expansive reference to climatic migration against the background of cause and effect and the visibility of climate change in the Mediterranean and the Middle East, and South Mediterranean with continental continuity with Africa on the Egyptian border, and in the Eastern Mediterranean basin. 2) Raising key questions that arise against the background of the introduction, with an emphasis on the nexus between social, economic and intercultural factors. 3) Focusing on the characteristics of the participating countries in Climate and Migration policy in the light of multiculturalism and socio-economic aspects. The methodology is based on review of international indices, acceptable by international institutions, in the field of environment, the level of climate risk for the country and more. 4) Summarizes the findings and illuminates the continuation of research work, the promotion of policies and collaborations in the Euro-Med space in order to design a climate migration policy that can be implemented for the benefit of the environment, the receiving countries and the migrants.
