Abstract
Symbolic convergence is all about the story. Theatre thrives on story. Establishing the bridges between the two, we can begin identifying which areas in the digital age lend themselves to stronger levels of communication regarding the act of storytelling. Farce represents a kind of theatre with a heightened sense of reality which bolsters the fantasy themes and stories which help an audience connect to the story and be an active part in the creation of the experience, even as a silent listener. In an educational setting like State College of Florida, the theatre program seeks out opportunities to teach students how to better communicate and tell their stories to the audience from the perspective of a character. In the digital age, farce may be a strong illustration of what qualities are necessary for face-to-face interactions between a play and an audience to give a true connection through the experience.
