Abstract
Climate-induced displacement is rapidly rising across the Global South, disproportionately affecting vulnerable communities. This paper examines how intensifying floods in Pakistan, drought and desertification in Africa, and cyclones in Southeast Asia are driving large-scale population movements. It explores the political and ethical dimensions of these crises through the lens of the veil of ignorance, highlighting how unequal structures exacerbate risks for those least responsible for climate change. The discussion also considers nature-based solutions as a sustainable way forward, offering strategies that integrate ecological restoration with social protection. By situating displacement within both environmental and political frameworks, the study underscores the urgent need for justice-driven responses that safeguard human dignity and resilience in the Global South.
