Abstract
In times of climate crisis and unprecedented destruction of the natural environment Lissa has been living on Jerrinja/ Wandi Wandian land in south east NSW, Australia for the past 20 years where she cares and maintains a large garden while also foraging for native flora and invasive species to make her beautiful and meaningful fibre art. In this session you will join Lissa to see some of the plant fibres that she employs in her work and view examples of the work using natural fibres combined with age old basketry skills. Lissa believes that using locally foraged fibres and making with her hands is an act of resistance against consumption of materials that are harmful to the environment.
