Abstract

The studies in this book are diverse in content and approach. Yet they speak to a common purpose: that everyday Australians can and do influence the sort of society we are in the process of making. And there is a growing recognition among our people that the making of the Australian nation as an inclusive society is something in which all Australians can, indeed must, take a hand. This collection of papers is about reconciliation, about mutual understanding, and about honouring all of our pasts as the basis for imagining our futures together.
