Abstract

The purpose of this independently conducted research study is to suggest that the failure to measure electromagnetic fields may be contributing to the difficulty in demonstrating causation. Concern about the adverse effect of energy associated with electricity has been discussed in a variety of instances. Given the proliferation of cell phones, concern has begun to focus on the relationship between these widely used devices as they are related to health risks. Simply including an entire “population” of people who use cell phones and computers is erroneously presumptive. Including everyone using a computer or cell phone falsely presumes that everyone in the sample is exposed to comparable ELF-EMF. Studies must investigate subjects who have actually been exposed to known and measured levels of exposure to ELF-EMF. This study presents data showing wide variation in cell phone and computer ELF-EMF emissions.
